Same, same although I've had the 'hawk now for 5 months (no wonder my face aches) :D and (ken, hold still, touch wood) have only got one scratch under the bumper, I am sooper carefull around gutters, the ol EL had heaps of scratches.

One trick I have found that helps when you are comming up to a curb (head on) like in a shopping centre car park etc; is to look at the area under the drivers wing mirror, where the wing mirror meets the car, this will be slightly different depending on your height or how far back you sit from the steering wheel. Anyhow slowly drive up to the kerb and when you see the join of the concrete and black top appear under the wing mirror stop the car, then get out and check how far the front lip of the bumper is from the top of the curb, I find the bumper is about 3 or 4" (100mm) from the curb. Try it, will save heaps of tears and gnashing of teeth.

Same as the others - I did mine on day one & I am fussy as well but if I fix it will only happen again. Here is a tip. Ring you local new car dealer and you will find that the used car departments always have one or two contractors that they use just do little spray touch ups for a fraction of the cost of the whole spoiler. I got a scratch fixed for one of my staff last week and it saved him about $650 on the quoted job for the full panel re-paint.

Yep got scrapes on mine too.....and being a black car, I'm not too worried for chips and scratches I can't see - but I know how you feel. Mine happend after 3 weeks.

Did manage to buy some touch up paint for $14 and took 15 minutes to fix....

I think it seems that it happens to the best of us!!!!!

managed to last about 8 weeks till it happened then 1 day noticed it when washing the baby. Ouch ah well at least its just a scrape and not a crack like another lowered car in the family .... crappy d****dores

One of the contractors the yards use is the "Touch-up Guys" (don't ya just love the name? :D

They do a really good job at good rates.

If your worried about that whatever you do dont lower your car.

I have heaps of scrapes under mine but you Cant see unless your under the car.

I have a mate who ownes a Touch up guys franchise in the east of Melbourne,Ive seen him perform magic , he will look after you. His name is Darren White.

By the way, I saw Craig Lowndes park a black XR6T at sunshine plaza. I watched him walk away and I checked his spoiler.........scraped big time :lol:

You probably already know about this but I will give it a shot.

With all of the stone chips and scratches, we have a guy up here in Cairns who goes around fixing them all. He is called "chips away" and does a really good job. He usually only does bumpers but I had a really deep scratch (4 inches long) on the panel just above my wheel and he fixed it like new for $100.

I'm sure these type of guys are everywhere but I reckon they are great until you are ready to respray your bumpers. Just a thought.
