Having HID lo-beams makes it a little annoying for other road users to have them on all the time so I avoid it until night time.

So, as the name says, they are very intense at the bulb. Since Human eyes are attracted to light it can be very annoying if you look directly at them (day or night), more so than normal Halogen bulbs

I've chosen to use my headlight lowbeams for years now, but my ex-Telstra vehicle makes the choice redundant Its easy to assume everyone with a license has good eyesight, but I think the truth is somewhat different

As soon as you turn the key they come on and stay on. I do work for the govt though.
