Wheel Scuff

All,

In a moment of careless driving, I curbed my front passenger side wheel and scratch my beautiful 18" alloys.

The damage is minor - scratches along the rim not on the spokes.

Is there any companies who can polish the scratches out ?

I have an alloy spare but would like to get the wheel fixed.

I had my done on my prevous car by rebel wheels but any mag repaired shld be able to do this for you

I feel for ya mate! When I asked my girlfriend how close I was to the curb I got the reply, "yeah, your fine", followed by a blank look as my rims scraped the curb, and my face turned to murderous...Rims still not fixed as I don't know where to go either...

There's a place in Brisbane, that reconditions all rims. They're always doing V8Supercar rims, I think they went by the name of RACE ENGINEERING. This was a fair while ago, so I don't know if they still operate. They were near Jindalee. I know they're in Brisbane, but it might help. :(

Never did get around to fixing it. Have resigned my damaged alloy to the boot as the spare.

Good News !!

Thanks to Sport's contact - Advance Alloy Wheels, I will have my wheel fixed by tomorrow.

Took the wheel in today and they will machine the scratches out and relacquer for $150 in cGSt and wheel alignment.

Great fast service.

Showed me another 18" rim from a XR6T and you couldnt see any scratch.

I've scratched one of my new 18" today & it looks like sh!t!

Thanks for the tip on Race Engineering HocusChrisT. They are still in business. They're located in Sumner Park (Brisbane).

I'll go in sometime next to get some prices & provide an update on the forum for anyone else needing this service.
