It's one of the friendliest events to enter as a novice as there are so many beginners that just rock up for the rivalry aspect & running quick times, with no real bracket racing experience. My mate got through a few rounds last year in his Clubsport with a manual box & street tyres, so it's not only open to stupid quick cars with slicks & auto's. My first ever run down the strip was a Expensive Daewoo V Ford day @WSID.It was a great day and the Expensive Daewoo guys were really helpful to a newbie.With their advise I pulled a 12.9 first ever run with 250 rwkw. There will also be some pb's set by anyone that hasn't raced anything other than a WAW as they prep the track & move the startline forward to the 'proper' position, making the track 1320ft long instead of 1323ft. 3 ft doesn't sound like much, but it will actually drop your 60ft time substantially which drops your 1/4 mile et by the same margin at the top end, if not a little more! It's cheaper if you enter online anyway & only takes 5mins to sign up...Remember though, normal ANDRA rules apply. 1.99 or quicker requires ANDRA license, harness, TS Loop, Battery Isolator if applicable & 10.99 or quicker needs all of the above + cage.
