Hey guys,

Not so good news.. Last night my Dad and I were installing a Towbar onto his Landcruiser, As we need to tow some things this weekend

We popped inside to grab a few tools and drinks (literally 5 minutes), and come back to a passenger door being open. At the time we didnt not think anything of it as it could have been one of us that left it open for a few minutes.. This morning we get up and my dad can not find his wallet, and his GPS is missing, along with a few other small items from the car.. I am located in Hoppers Crossing, VIC.

There is about $1k+ worth of items (GPS, Wallet etc) that were taken, I'm pretty shattered (and so is he of course) as my family saved pretty hard to get this GPS unit for his birthday, its a Garmin NUVI 760 series..

This is just a request that if anybody hears of a cheap unit going around, Especially in Melbourne (Western Suburbs), To PLEASE drop me a PM so I can follow it up..

Cheers guys..

James

Check out ebay, and if there is a cash converters near by - that's what the cops told me years ago after I got robbed - again!

If you find them - ask to pick up and take a copper with you when you do - obviously ask for the SN...

 farkers!!!!!

If you need help with a new GPS and Dan cant get you out of trouble, let me know mate... Happy to hook a brother out in a case like this...

Also check your insurance policy - have replaced a few under insurance policies....

damn dude that sucks! have you guys got the serial number for the GPS? Coz same thing happend to a friend of myne, cops asked him to give full details of his gps and its serial number, and said they would have it back and also would help that catch the person who did it, if it wasnt passed on or something along the lines

Thanks for the support guys, I will get back to you if we do need a new unit.,

I REALLY wish I did catch them in the act, I would have tore them a new one.. No doubt about it. I'm hoping they were kids whose mother finds the wallet with his ID's and Credit Cards in there and has the decency to send it back. One can only hope decent people are still around. Never seen the old man so upset before.

Cheers

If you/your old man have hooked the GPS up to your pooter it will possibly have logged the serial number. Won't help you out, but the manufacturer or maps provider may be able to lock the unit to make it useless for the thief or unfortunate receiver.
