Ping?

Featured Replies

Howdy all,

Well as it goes I have what sounds like a ping but its not constant.

Seems to come in at around 1700 rpm then again under load after around 3kish

other then that it seems perfectly fine. Its going to ford but just wondering what else

it could be?

Loose exhaust/shield etc

Just to add its only started since I got it back after having lower ball/joint arm reset

and rear rose bushes.

Cheers nat

where exatly do u knkw where the noise is cumming from? if its pining.. u shuld be able to hear it near the throttlebody. will it produce the noise while revving?

It wont ping free revving and only above 3k on WoT so its hard

to determine roughly where it's coming from.

have you filled it at a different servo, maybe fuel?

Sounds like ping to me. Do what rooster said fill her up with 98 octane and see what happens. Remember if it does it on 98 dont keep ya foot into it. Back off as soon as you hear it cause if you dont.....

wait a while for the fuel to mix ,take it for a drive 50-60km then see what happens, really it could be anything. It's like me going to the doctor and telling him I hurt and not giving anymore information. If the fuel dosen't fix it well you may have to take it to a workshop and have someone have a look at it.Cheers Nick
