Its officially the PCV fitting. (Positive crankcase ventilation).

You sure about that?

The PCV valve and pipe is on the top rear of the rocker cover isn't it?

hmm, well I broke that exact bit - and had a look in the workshop manual and it said that it was the PCV valve. I asked for one at Fruad and that's what they gave me - so assume it's correct? Could be wrong I guess....

The other end of that pipe goes into the rocker cover.....?!?!

Can't be the PCV valve then.

The PCV valve is a one way check valve and is located at the rear of the rocker cover. The other end of the PCV valve pipe goes into the inlet manifold somewhere.

The part that you are referring to is just a breather pipe fitting from the rocker cover to the crossover tube.

All part of emmisions control.

just found the invoice in my glovebox

Part no. BA 9V68 A -Description valve. Price $16.50

Personally I cant believe they call it a valve. Its a straight forward connection or fitting. Nothing moves or opens and shuts.

As for geting it off. Jam a screwdriver in it and turn....

How about that, I found the exact same thing snapped in mine yesterday (felt like power was down a little) and took it back to the dealer who recently serviced it. They had an off the road turbo sitting there so swapped his crossover for mine while they order in the fitting!

I just noticed mine is broken also, was wondering why my boost gauge was dropping at gear changes when it never used to- guessing this is why?

Will try glue it back together till I make it into ford next
