02/02/09 09:44 AM02/02/09 09:44 AM #2 I know nothing about BOV's, however there is a dedicated section in the Technical section of the forums where you can look all day long at BOV's. God know's why?The aftermarket ones also tend to be the first defect found.I.B.
02/02/09 09:59 AM02/02/09 09:59 AM #3 comón IB the xr6t vents to atmo before the air flow is mesuared by the ecu so although tech illegal any engineer will give you an cert for a bov on a xr6t
02/02/09 01:42 PM02/02/09 01:42 PM #4 I'd be very suprised if they did... I tried on my old car and there was no chance due to the noise. The police WILL sticker you for them (meanwhile people are actually committing real crimes without a care in the world) and they wont pass the pits if they are louder than factory! On some cars they sound OK, but they just dont "suit" the car. Save thje $300 for a fuel pump or something useful

02/02/09 07:19 PM02/02/09 07:19 PM #6 then the bov is set so it doesn't affect the calculated air volume that's used to measure how much fuel to add , that's why their illegal on most cars because they let out air that has already been measured for fuel which means the car will run to rich ie pollutionand yes if you had one that made offensive amounts of noise they might find something to book you for ,but atmo bov can and have been given the ok for our cars Edited 02/02/09 07:26 PM02/02/09 07:26 PM by our06t

It doesn't however. It has a MAP sensor which will not be affected by plumb back venting or atmospheric venting. An atmospheric venting BOV would still be illegal though.
02/02/09 08:11 PM02/02/09 08:11 PM #8 well I know of at least one member here who has a cert for their atmo bov and how ever you wanna fkn say it the car knows how much air volume there is so it can add fuel ,and that's what I said on the xr it doesn't matter where the bov goes it won't effect the air fuel mix
02/02/09 11:07 PM02/02/09 11:07 PM #9 The Go Fast Bits Stealth FX is fully adjustable (full plumb back to full atmo) and that's what I run. I only run full atmo though cause I like the noise lol. So if you did get hassled for it you could just adjust it back. Not that ive ever been hassled for it though
03/02/09 01:59 AM03/02/09 01:59 AM #10 Why really bother unless your doing other mods which require the bov to be changed, or your Leb, (or similar where the following rule applies) - in which case its mandatory!
