It's been my observation that the forum members break (broadly) into two main groups, e.g., IT-related and Mechanics-related.

I'd be interested to see what the break-up really is?

I understand that the above options may not cover all possibilites, so just pick the one that come closest. <_<

BTW, self-confessed total geek here ... it's all got something to do with internal combustion, right?

I voted for a mix between the 2. Currently working in IT, but spent my school / tertiary years working for a heavy transport company on the weekend, washing and maintaining semi trailers.

And to this day there is still something special about a semi with a 600hp diesel and a 15 speed gearbox. I was driving these things around the truckyard before I was on my P's for my car.

Geekish tendencies, but nothing like some of the people around here <_<. Limited understanding of issues mechanical.

So 'none of the above' is my vote.

Mostly Geek here.

Know a lot about computers, and enough to change the brakes, wheel bearings, spark plugs, radiators, exhausts plus the basic crap...

Own my own computing consulting company and also am the IT manager for a multimillion dollar Trucking company, looking after 5 campuses and far too many computers for me to count by my self. Big job.

Always looking for that next geeky toy or gadget or phone and what have you.

Flag/Spectator control/Scrutineer/Grid Marshal at most V8 Races in NSW and Vic

Service my own cars and laugh at my mates who break down and depend on me to help them out when in the middle of nowhere instead of the NRMA (damn cheap uni students  )

Pretty much an even mix between the 2 slightly heavier on the geeky side though.

My new T due in the next 7 days..... am extremely anxious to get my hands on my new baby <_<

I fix pathology instruments which entails a fair bit of mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, optical, laser, chemiluminessence, and IT related systems. What does that make me?
