December 10, 200817 yr #1 Picked the car up from the panel shop after a minor prang left a tow ball hole in my front bar. While I was at it I had them fit a new steel XR8 bonnet and blend the guards. Had a day off yesterday so after reading so much about it on here I hit the whole car with a Meguires clay bar. I think the finished product came out awesome and was well worth the effort. The pictures dont do it justice. I had no idea how much crap and road grime was all over the car, you should of seen the color of the clay when I was finished. The leading edge of the roof was the worst bit, felt like sandpaper. Next week im fitting a new Rapid intake set up and cooler, then in for a retune and new brakes. Probably the PBR premium set up.Now for some feedback...Im also thinking about swapping my rims for some F6 19inch Dark Argents... thoughts? Also, Ive got a set of white bonnet buldge decals, but im not sure if I should put them on... ?And when I fit the MASSIVE rapid cooler, I intend on leaving the lower grill off. Do you reckon I should paint the upper grill silver while im at it? Edited December 11, 200817 yr by Dagabond

December 10, 200817 yr #7 looks great mate, that clay stuff really does its job then.the dark agents will look good no matter because there pretty much made for the car but I really think your wheels suit it best. anyone can wack on some dark agents but its hard to find a real good looking wheel for a car. December 11, 200817 yr #9 Author Cheers fellas. Only took me about 4 hours, and I didnt work that hard. I read people really give it elbow grease but I just kept it very well lubricated and the clay just glides over the top until I couldnt feel any resisitance. Only used half the bar of clay, but about 2/3 of the bottle of quick detailer.Oh and I forgot to add, I threw on the parking sensors as well. I know... they are for idiots. But after driving the old mans fairlane for a few weeks, I cant believe I ever parked without them. I reverse park against a wall every day so they are a good bit of kit.And a side profile shot. I love the bonnet, however, its an accident waiting to happen now because I keep looking at the reflection in shop windows...It has always seemed to sit a bit lower in the ass than the front. I might lower the nose a touch while im at it. I have to spend money anyway... the government told me so. If I dont it means im Un-australian.
December 11, 200817 yr #10 that's a great tip, I might use that on my misses. I gotta spend some of the family bonus on lowering my T because if I dont KRudd will call me Un-Australian.
