Cons Of Lowerng The Ute

Hey all been thinking about dropping the ute down a tad. Really only want the rear lowered a bit so the tyres are about even or a little bit with the guard. What I was wanting to know is what are the pros and cons of lowering a ute.

Of course one of the pros would be it will look horn.

I don't really carry any big loads in it so I'm not worried about that factor.

So pro and con away.

I just had mine setup with full pedders and its great, handles 100% better and doesnt scrape on anything so far, I dont know why it took me so long to do it

Next week I am having SL Kings put in the front, reset rear with bilsteins all round. I'll let you know how it goes.

The biggest benefit you will get is if you get good quality shocks. The standard ford shocks are just total crap.

I dunno what your driving but I've got a BA mkII ute and it had two steel plate spacers under each of the leaf springs. If you undo the U bolts and another bolt holding them in place and move them to between the diff and the leaf this will space your diff lighter (which lowers the backend). My ute looked sh*t before and now the back sits the same height as the front. IMO it looks horn, looks lowered but I can still get the places I could before. Took me and a mate about an hr, two bottle jacks and a pit. I think it's the best an cheapest (free) thing I've done to my baby!

exactly the thread I was wanting to see ... am probably going to dump mine some time this week lol probably super lows in the front and 2 inch block in rear or the leafs reset if I can...

Throw up some pics when you do. I was more after something along the lines of will it put more strain on the diff/axles when lets say... being heavy on the go pedal I.e drag racing.

I don't see how it would strain the diff.

that's the whole point of the hangers.

My ute is dumped at the rear and my diff is still getting replaced under warranty =)

Mine is dumped as well, and I put 20s on today which raised it up a bit and I'm a little bit devo'd.. but, the wheels make it all better hahahaha.

Same as carps, I put 20's on my a while ago and lowered my to the lowest pedders would do just recently, its not real low but the wheels fill the guard up

Best thing I have done to the car so far.

Bilstien Shocks, SL Kings in the front and reset the rears.

It has such a fantastic ride.

Next is a sway bar.
