Guest Guests Posted 10/11/08 12:42 PM Posted 10/11/08 12:42 PM Simply put, no exhaust will do both.Any exhaust that's gonna flow 350rwkw is going to make the engine overboost without a tune. In order to combat this, you also need a flash tuner & custom tune. It's a little ointless having a tune with exhaust only though so add in injectors, fuel pump, cooler etc... Get the idea? HahaYour best bet is to take out your centre muffler & replace it with straight pipes/hotdogs which will give a throaty sound, then spend the exhaust money on a tune, injectors & fuel pump instead to give you the performance You can then upgrade cooler & exhaust in the next wave of mods & have it retuned to suit which will give you 330rwkw+.Sorry to put a dampener on things but hope this helps.

The stock system is a dual 2.25" system from the cat back, most people upgrade to either 3.5" or Dual 2.5". Pretty common to see these systems go for $500-600 in mild steel (stainless isn't a nessecity)Where abouts are you located, we may be able to point you in the right direction...

John- Member 87 Member For: 17y 10m 21d Posted 11/11/08 08:14 AM Author Posted 11/11/08 08:14 AM so... how about for the mean time to get some sound out of my baby I get a 3.5inch from catback and new muffeler for around $400 or so, then I buy injectors600cc or so? ($400), capa flash tuner ($500), nizpro value springs ($300).so $400 cat back exhaust sound :Dthen spend $1200 on the capa, springs, injectors and then go get a custom tune $600 or so. then wat power should I be pumping out??? any rough ideas??then in 6 months time pay to have my gearbox strengthend, get a walbro fuel pump, and finish of the exhaust 3.5inch from dump pipe to cat, a new high flow cat, then retune? what power are we thinking after all of this???any comments would be appreciated... Cheers John.

Posted 12/11/08 12:08 AM Posted 12/11/08 12:08 AM Your going to have to factor in installation of the valve springs ($500-$800) and injectors ($100-$200). Depending on where you go. I would get a fuel pump installed at the same time you get this work done. The walbro cost about $150-$200 plus about $100 to install but is well worth it even for insurance sake(Just dont take note of my sig as I havent done it yet lol)I have read and been told the standard exhaust with upgraded cat is good for 330-350rwkws. IMO I would just upgrade the cat and remove the centre muffler. It still has a loud sound. Any louder for me is too annoying.I cant see what type of gearbox you have but if its an 4speed auto, I would be very wary of going over 300rwkws for longevigty and anything near 350rwkw you will have issues with rods requiring a engine rebuild in a BA. To get anywhere near the 350 in a BA you will a big cooler and plenum which is about $3k, which you havent mentioned at all what cooler you will getMe personally 296rwkw no valve springs done, is fine for daily driven street car. See my sig for mods..
