Run out sales for the series 1 VY's. Hasn't that been happening for the past 6 months. They will do anything to keep there sales up. Resale values will be poor. The BA must be really troubling them.

Yes, I was commenting to friends a while back that Expensive Daewoo were 'un-officially' discounting the VY. I think this was happening from about Feb this year.

Try and get an XR for less than retail at the momnet and the dealer will tell you tell your story walking... :(

I actually like the VY SS as well, but I would really pi$$ed had I bought one now :lol:

I am a Mad Ford Driver and I refuse to buy the Series 1 Turbo Ute.

I've just been told by my dealer that they can't see the Series 2 coming out before August.

Yet Holdens is coming out soon.

Are there any dealers that can tell me why aren't Ford Getting there Ass into Gear and Getting the Series 2 out. Soon as its availble I'll buy one.

It pisses me off that Ford Always seems to be behind the Eighth ball.

Its simple really. They dont need to.

The BA is selling exceptionally well, they are struggling to keep up with supply.

The series 2 bits are no doubt finalised but just not needed until sales dip, so why relase the series 2 now?

Can l ask, why are you determined to wait another year for the series 2?

Hopefully you are in for a long wait. Lets face it as soon as the Series 2 hits the show room floors all our cars devalue so I'm in no hurry. Besides Ford has burned their loyal fans before on resale because of the way they introduced updates. Hopefully they have learned their lesson...look after the loyal customers.

Also, as Mondie stated, there is no need at the monemt, sales are strong and don't look like slowing any time soon.

I think you'll find Expensive Daewoo are behind the 8 ball not Ford and that's why the series 2 after 9 months

I agree, Ford don't need a Series 2 just yet. Maybe mid 2004 would be a good time to release the series 2.

Expensive Daewoo was worried about the BA Falcon from the moment it was launched last year, hence they will try and do anything (discounting) to sell a crapadoor to anyone.

Sales of the XR range up 300+% on last year alone is going to rub salt into the wounds of the oppostion.

I have Expensive Daewoo fans coming up to me and commenting on what a fine work the Ford stylists have achieved with this model (tuff and muscular looking), compared to the uckly duckling AU Falcons that had to be heavily discounted to move out of the showrooms.

All that Ford need to do to the XR6T for series 2 is raise power by 10-20kw, fit the manual GT gearbox, and presto another sales runaway.

Ford are concentrating on getting the Territory to market first before releasing a series 2 BA and it won't be launched for at least another 12 months.
