Consider risk taking, accident avoidance, driving lines, awareness, etc.Between 1 and 10 with five being average - I would rate myself a 7. I mean, how do you rate yourself, objectively? What are the benchmarks for things like risk taking, accident avoidance, etc., etc.?You may give yourself a 7, but in reality, you're only a 6 rated on a consistent, measurable guide.I understand the feeling/intention of the post, but I just don't see that you will get any meaninful numbers out of it.... BTW, I'm a 10. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5079-rate-yourself/#findComment-39612 Share on other sites

Zeke zeke Member 792 Member For: 21y 10m 27d Location: Adelaide Posted 29/07/03 12:56 PM Share Posted 29/07/03 12:56 PM When I was 16, I rated myself a full 10 - driving on a farm since I was 12. Now, 37 years later, about a 5 - silly old fart with (relatively) failing eyesight, slower reaction times and limited ability to concentrate to the level required for really fast, sustained driving. But then I had single vehicle accidents - lots of them!! - because I thought I was Fangio and behaved accordingly. At least now, I'm a careful old fart! I drive good, safe cars and if I give them a squirt, it's under optimal conditions. By the time I get past a slower car, I might be doing 160, but I'll have left enough space to complete the passing manouvre in a Morris Marina or worse - because who knows when the power suddenly won't be there - for any reason! And cornering at 7 tenths is good enough for me now. If I want to go 10 tenths, I'll find my way to a racetrack - easy with club track days, advanced driving courses etc.A big margin of safety, afforded by a really good car, is what I enjoy now.Maybe I should vacate this forum on the grounds of incipient senility, but I must admit the T I test drove gave me a real buzz and said "buy me" - so I did (delivery in about 3 days!!!!!). I'll have fun, but I'll be careful and responsible (even if not always strictly legal) doing it.I can wear the odd speeding ticket, but an at fault accident would cause me real grief as I seem to have avoided these for about 30 years and many kilometres. Maybe I can give myself an extra half a point on the grounds of knowing my limitations.Regardszeke Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5079-rate-yourself/#findComment-39623 Share on other sites

Now I rate myself as about a 7-8/10. Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5079-rate-yourself/#findComment-39636 Share on other sites

I very aware of my surroundings and whats going on, and find im very predictive of what other drivers are about to do.. so yeh most likely an 8.
