Diff Bush

Hi Guys,

Silly question I have been reading up a bit on driveline issues with the BF Mk11 T T56's...... can someone tell me what Diff Bush means? Im thinking its just Diff Bushers.

Do these need replacing after a certain amount of KM's?

If the need to be replaced what are the symptoms?

The differential centre in the rear of the car is mounted in a subframe that holdes the rear suspension and the diff. There are 3 bushes that hold the centre in place. One at the back and one on each side. Unfortunately, they wear and split quiet often, even in a territory or something like that, so tend to go more often on the high power and possible harder driven cars. Manuals make the issue worse as there is the loading and unloading all the time on gear changes.

It is a time consuming job and not to be done at home. Best left to the dealerships!

I had mine done under warranty last Friday.

I was suprised they did it right first time. The service manager who has a F6 told me his gets done every service.

His is a manual. Mine went after 10,000km and I drove with the problem for 20,000km. Makes the rear feel wobbly.

I had done the right and the rear bush.

any ideas what they cost to buy im getting one changed under warranty im thinking of buying the other two and getting them all done

thanks for the info mate.... can you tell me what the symptoms are of the bushes being screwed? like what effects does it have?

if the diff bush is rooted you will notice a banging noise coming from the rear end of the car when getting on and off the throttle and your car will also be more likly for the ass end to move around in the wet due the the diff being out of alignment

yeah mine feels rough on throttle in the back end ..... its done 18,000ks so im not sure if that would go on it already. My diff seems to be making a bit of noise to... I actually think it sings to me haha! Would this have anything to do with it ?
