Iphone & Aux Cable Volume Issues

hey all

I purchased the AUX input cable from a member on here - everything works fine, except I have the iphone on almost full volume but stereo needs to be on at least 18 - 20 to hear anything at all.. at 25 yeah its sort of loud, but still when volume is up this high theres quite a bit of backgoround noise when its paused etc.. also it cant be good for speakers being this loud all the time, really it should only need to be on 10ish to be heard then 25 should be ridiculously loud - not just medium loud.

is there a fix for this? or is it just how it is? I might try re-encodong m mp3's at higher volumes, but that generally give a sh*ttier sound.

Is the AUX cable the one with the amplifier in it. If not then that will be your problem.

It certainly is - also when its up at such high volume like that on pause I can hear the engine like a bzzzzzz noise that changes with the revs of the car - not loud but noticable when paused, but cant hear it when music is on, so that's not the majority of the problem, but if it wasnt up so loud in the first place I wouldnt hear that I guess, which brings me back to the first problem.

I use the same kit for my car computer and it's loud on 17.

Mine went quiet once and the 3.5mm stereo jack wasn't plugged in properly.

Just a random thought, but check to see that the unit is getting power. Not sure if the mobile phone power is on a seperate circuit but check the relevant fuse perhaps? :stupid:

I don't need to use my iphone in the car as the computer has all of my music on it.

The instructions do recommend you turn the volume of the device (the iphone) all the way up...

Have you checked to see if you've got a volume limit set on the phone?

yeah - it is almost all the way up, any higher and its distorting.. I set the volume limit myself to just under full.

I've got a TT and use an iPhone and it's as good as gold. iPhone volume up full and it's the same volume as the radio.

Can't help with your problem, but thought I'd let you know that my sh*t was working.
