That would be special - and they would sell!

it's not a question of whether the Market exists for those types of cars - They would go in a flash!

Lets face it, they just want to move stock they already have and can't sell. Ain't nothin' special about that.

Tell'em thy're dreamin'!

As a bonus, they'd make the W427 look pathetic and overpriced.

Unfortunatly, those in charge of Ford aren't too bright. They'd rather spend money sponsoring the golf, or running a few adverts where they don't even mention the name of the car they're advertising.

At a guess the cost of supercharging the Boss with reliable hardware, testing it, readying for production and getting it passed through all the various regulations is much more than the extra money they would make from selling 200 GT's at 90k (which is about 3-4 million?).

If they are going to supercharge the GT then I imagine they will do a GTHO, possibly higher volume and certainly more than 90k cost.

Could be wrong though!

What money. The motor and driveline development has already been done, ie GT40. Most of the other components are already in the existing car, better swaybars and spring rates are hardly costly either.

As for the F6, they know they have tollerances built in for more, reliable power.

It's the balls that Ford lacks.

Ford can no longer release a new engine unless its Euro 4 compliant. That came into effect from July 31, so don't expect a single upgraded engine until the V6 and new 300 and 330 kw DI 5.0 V8's are released in 2010. Also all development on the straight 6 was cancelled last year.

Not that they would have upped the power with a special edition anyway but through emmissions laws they can't.

Ford may not be able to, but does that apply to FPV, which is essentially an aftermarket tuning house, with Ford warrantly approval?

If they are restricted by law, then for the 5th anniversary, they should offer free leather or something. Don't shoot your bolt on yet another half arsed 'special'.

It stands out, I just don't like that HUGE 5Anniversary sticker on the side. The writing it way to big.

If I was in the market for a GT and was considering bigger brakes I'd get it, after all bigger brakes are around 5G alone if I'm not mistaken.
