Hi guys, my father in law and I are going to build a car and we are not sure what car and what motor. Now I'm trying to convince him we should build a 65/66 Mustang Fastback (Awesome car IMO) and instead of putting a V8 in it we should do something a little different and drop a Typhoon or XRT motor in it.

The big question is will it fit. Has anoyne heard of or seen a XRT or Typhoon motor in any Mustang? or does anyone know the dimensions?

Thanks

Its generally the height of the motor that causes the most issues when swapping them into other bodies.

I've seen custom/modified crosmembers and sumps made to to mount the motors lower in the bay.

We are doing one in a early capri soon, and there's a few around town going into unusual bodies.

Should be great in a stang... put it on turbomustangs.com and freak out the yanks lol

Well the motor fits pretty easy into an XF/XG engine bay. If the mustang is similar then I'd say no worries :)

As Rapid said though, its the height which usually is the limiting factor. For the one shown below, he is going to graft in the XB GT bonnet which has a sizeable bulge on the bonnet so it will all fit.
