gday the series one motors had a 6pack coil pack and the thermostat housing out the rear of the inlet manifold ,

,and the series 2 motors had 3 coils and the thermostat housing at the front :blink:

I know this as I work for racwa and spend half my day under the bonnets of these things :thumbsup:

Yeah Iveco's are gutless and the Volvo auto's have a sh*t load of problems and im not a

salesman!!!!

hey not sure if the problem has been solved but shouldnt an engine number and a phone call clear it up

should there not be a computer somewhere with that info at a toyota dealership :pukeup:

if your not 100% sure ring toyota with the vin to get the build date. Then work out if the bulid date falls within series 1 or 2

vn series 1 - top radiator hose goes along chassis rail than up the back of the motor.

vn series 2, vp & vr used the same engine - top radiator hose is to the front of engine.

vs was the ECOTEC, identified by the plastic cover and external oil galley on back of motor.
