that's done to protect you from yourself! You thought I was going to say something about revenue raising but that is obviously not what the 'Speed Kills' propaganda, oopps I mean campaign, is all about.

Hey guys, I should have been a Workcover inspector.

Come to think of it, I would not have been able to pin the officer for anything, he was good.

Most have lost their license's I have twice. But I was let off for driving on suspension before getting it back that was pretty lucky they would have slapped an extra 6 months on top.

Then start a poll and lets really see if more people on here have lost there licences than those who have not. Dont try and morally justify your loss of licence periods by stating that everyone else has as well.

Did you forget to think when you wrote this?

I'd say a good percentage probably has, but your right a poll is the only way to know for sure.

That said, I've personally never lost my license. Never even lost a point. (in fact only fine I have ever received was a parking ticket which I managed to talk my way out of), basically comes down to time and place...

I personally think that XRSICKT got the raw end of the stick, getting someone in an exit ramp who is still doing 100km/h is hardly fair. The reason they have exit ramps are so the flow of traffic on the main highway isn't effected when someone turns off, so slowing down to 60 km/h whilst still on the main highway would be extremely dangerous (and most drivers wouldn't expect someone to do it).

The best one I saw the copper was hiding right behind the 110 km/h sign for people pulling onto the Hume Highway. Our cars could get from 60 to 110 in the short space of time between the sign and the highway (just), the average car may have been able to make it to 70 before running out of room and been forced to pull into 110km/h traffic doing 40km/h under (now tell me that's not dangerous).

I though I’d be good and pay the fine as soon as I got to work but I guess I should have given myself a couple of days to get over it then look a the fine print, you guys are right I don’t think there is much I can do now except take the 3 months and get on push bike.

Told the boss about it, its a company car and all plus I need it for work. I put a plan together when before I rang him with the distances between all our sites and the closest train stations and there is nothing over 5kms, I explained the whole thing and he said yeah no worries, I’ll be taking a week of leave at the end of each month because work has been chasing me for years about having too much leave and using that time to finish the renos to the house. I will be working from home one day a week as well so that’s cool. The RTA give you about a months to get yourself organised for the suspension which I’m thankful for.

At the end of the day I think this is a good thing anyways because I’ve been spending way too much time at work and needed to find that balance again, my lovely wife has been patient with me and the renos so now I can finish it all, work will leave me alone about having too much leave and I will be hopefully a whole lot fitter.

However I will still look into it, I’ve looked and this offence is not eligible for a black license and taking it to court won’t get me anywhere.

After you put it like that, I think that loosing your licence for the 3 months might not of been such a bad thing at all, sounds like its given you some time to re-balance your life and remind you of your life outside of work.

Its good to see people looking on the bright side even if by the end of the 3 months you will be dying to get back in the drivers seat.

cheers.

Nah, absolutely no chance. If it was more than 15%, I'd be absolutely shocked. Even amongst a bunch of rev-heads like us.

Even that's a good percentage but far from being most.

Morally justify it?

Rape, assault would be classed as a morally deprived type of offence. I didn't realise that speeding fell into the same category!
