Probably A Newb Question Bout Lowering My Ute

hi, I got an xr6 turbo ute ba and I wanna lower it...

I've been told by 1 shop that it will cost about $500 to lower it that's just new front springs and lowering blocks in the rear.

and another shop said I'd probably looking around the 800-1000$ mark as you have to replace the rear shocks he said cause they bend something he also said lowering blocks are about $160ish which I throught was abit much.

how low do you recommend I should go I don't realy use it for anything other than play but stil wanna be able to go over speed bumps without having to look like a *beep* doing angles and I wanna be able to go up the odd driveway

Lowering blocks are illegal from what I recall. if you want to put them in you can just buy em at autobahn and put em in yourself. But to do a proper job you have to get the springs reset and the fronts will just be king springs or whatever and yes shocks replace are recomended. so I'd say the 800-1000 shop would be doing the best job for you. oviesly u get what u pay for.

I have paid twice to have rear leafs redone on an au and ba and it was 500ish to reset and add 2 extra leaves that's without shocks as height stayed the same it would just carry more at the lowered height so I would be expexting to pay 800 - 1200 for front and rear with average shockers .. good stuff would be 1500 and up at a guess

got my ute lowered with 2inch lowered springs front and back, not reset ones, for $650, didn't do shocks and ute has been fine for over a year now, most I carry would be 100kg every now and again

thanks guys I'm pretty sure lowering blocks arn't illegal in new zealand and I won't be carrying much over 100kg most the time does your car handle much better lowered fry?

hard to say mate got it lowered day after I got, but looks 100% better, got told by one of the places I rang that lowering blocks can also cause more axle tramp

I have pedders springs in my ute, they seem fine so far... make sure u put a camber kit in to

I think kings may be a slightly firmer ride? or am I just imagining things....

can anyone confirm that for me??

Put kings in the front SL. (I have SSL, looks good but a bit too low)

Reset Your rear by 2 inches.

No need to change the shocks they will be fine.

Camber kit "should" only be required with a SSL at the front.

I paid $400 for the lot on my ute including labour and its still fine after 4 years.

I put 2' king springs in the rear and ended up with real bad axle tramp. next is to fit up pedders which look to have more thick leaves .hoping this works.tried lowing blocks they work fine but look like sh@t under your springs had no axle tramp

thanks guys ill just put blocks in 4 now and c wat its like I think I can always put shocks in later on down the track if its bad
