Where Does This Thing Belong?

I was having a look at replacing my wheel bearings when I noticed a large nut/bolt thingy just sitting on a steering arm.

Any idea where it belongs? Its a pretty big sucker (35-36mm) with 25 stamped on it.

I put those in a ice cream container, full of other items just like it.

kinda looks like an sump plug, your mechanic might have put it down and forgot it.

check your service invoices you may have been charged for one.

I agree with gravelrash, looks like a sump plug. Amazing it didnt fall off while driving though. I would have thought the first bump would send it flying.

yeah especially considering its been from adelaide to melbourne 6 times with it there.

Got quoted $180 per side from Autobarn for genuine ford ones, but found some genuine ones off ebay ages ago for $120ish from a ford dealer who was doing a stock clearout.

Call CBC bearings, look them up in your yellow pages. Do not pay over a $100 each for them. \

the sump plug isn't a 36mm bolt, more like 15mm!
