I booked the car in for this Thurs to have some braided brake lines fitted. I thought I might throw some Bilsteins in at the same time, but someone said the R Specs have either Bilsteins or Konis in them standard. Does anyone know if this is true or do the R Specs have the Mexican POS pogo sticks fitted OEM?

Thanks in advance

Delphi developed the shocks for the R-Spec Doc, I haven't driven on the Bilsteins myself, but from what most people say they are pretty close to the perfect street shock for the Falcs

Cheers senna_T.

Still havn't made it back to Sydney. So are the Billies supposed to be the perfect shock for the Falcon, or are the Delphi's a good thing? Saves a few sheckles if the Delphi's are good stuff.

Cheers

lol Sydney isn't going anywhere!

Yeah, aiboart did a good right up on the Bilsteins, but he has the XR not the R-Spec Linky

Koni adjustables are good, but unless you are actually gonna change them, not completely necessary.

I would call the R-Spec shocks a mild upgrade, where as the Bils or Konis would be more obvious and tie your car down better to the road

I just changed my shcoks from the rspec ones to a set on bilstiens and the bilsteins are definetly a better shock as the rebound rate is much faster. the rpsec shocks seem to have a slower rebound rate which does work well in the car standard but once you put a set of heavier springs and bilsteins in it there is no looking back. All comes down to how much $$$ you want to spend.

Thanks for your help gents. I read the link senna_T seems very impressive. Booked it in for Wednesday 4 Bilstein Sports for $1540 fitted, no fancy adjustments and I'm leaving the standard springs in. From all accounts this should transform the car. It might take the high speed bounce out of it a bit

Nice work rick, yeah these should definately hold it down on the road, just make sure your detector is working when you test it out!

Fitted Bilstein's and a Whiteline adjustable front swaybar for $1800.00 (fitted). Its a completely different car and feels bolted to the road. On the downside the ride is on the harsh side of firm. New swaybar and shocks has the the front end tied down but is showing up the back end by tending to understeer badly if into corners hot, or oversteers too buggery if too heavy on the gas on the way out. Its a hell of a lot faster through technical bends and as long as your not too hot into them and coming out is more predictable and fun than it used to be.

A big vote here for Tein coilovers.

Friend had them on his Honda NSX and fitted them to his XR6T as well. Made a huge improvement in handling and ride quality.

I was so impressed that I fitted a set to our CV8 Monaro.

Unfortunately they are not yet available for the Territory.
