15/06/08 09:59 AM15/06/08 09:59 AM #1 Hey guys,Ive read the new FG 6T runs about 10psi now is that true? Also what will happen with the Capa generic flash tuners seeing they give you a 10psi map. Will they increase the psi a little more to compensate for the increased boost pressue on the new FG or something else?Cheers
15/06/08 11:06 AM15/06/08 11:06 AM #2 Standard xr6T runs 10 psi too its in the press release on fords website..Something about changes to the turbo too. they say the brand and I think model but I am not familiar with bf to know if its a different turbo or just increase in boost from bf 6psieither way I am waiting to test one again when its drycheers utemad
16/06/08 01:38 AM16/06/08 01:38 AM #3 Correct me if im wrong but I think the FG uses the same(ish) Turbo with a smaller compressor wheel running 10psi, gives better throttle response and boosts quicker, but I think the new Garret turbo is specific to the FG Ford, where as the BA and BF it was a out of the box bolt on. 16/06/08 07:43 AM16/06/08 07:43 AM #4 xr6 2001 your spot on. I know they are using the same turbo as BA/BF and yes they are just running a smaller compressor wheel to reduce lag I imagine. I am not sure wether they turbo/compressor set up is just for ford or is a blot on.
16/06/08 07:54 AM16/06/08 07:54 AM #5 The increase in compression ratio assists with the reduced lag also..
16/06/08 07:56 AM16/06/08 07:56 AM #6 I thought the engines now have a lower compression ratio - 8.47:1
16/06/08 08:15 AM16/06/08 08:15 AM #7 I thought the engines now have a lower compression ratio - 8.47:1Only on the F6. The XR6 Turbo went from 8.7 to 8.8 comp.
