+1 to that.

Utes usually don't have surging issues especially with 1/2 a tank of gas.

Get it checked by a reputable tuner.

Who tuned your car?

Autotech tuned the car, which I found they always do a top job.

The more I think about, it seems to be a fuel issue.

I’m running an APS fuel pump, but they still use the factory fuel pump in series, so the factory one may be getting lazy at top end. That may explain the pinging?

With the auto how do you stall it at 3000rpm???

I find I get to about 2000rpm, maybe a bit more and the tyres spin.

Maybe your tranny is on the way out but with that MPH you should be in the low 12s for sure maybe even dip into the 11's if you can get your 60ft times down a bit.

Probably closer to 2800rpm, I just about have to stand in the brakes to stop the wheels spinning

dont feel so bad, my best to date is 12.9 @ 118mph on 18in street tyres, 2.2 60ft.

remember every 0.1 in the 60ft = 0.2 at the end.

MT`s makes a BIG difference to your 60ft, and therefore a HUGE difference to your ET.

I feel both your pains....... It sux huh

nah I figure we got it good... we can spend as much money on mods as we want and have as many runs down the strip as we want and not live in fear of getting booted out :welcome2:

(I like how a thread about slow drag times brings all the manual drivers out of the wood works)

I dont know how you can stall it up so high if its a stock converter

if stalled any where near that high it would spin heaps

my guess would be the box is on its way out

the man is on the money! ^^

that's how I cut my 60' times from 2.2 to 1.7 and it launches like this but it did flog out my flexplate, bolts came loose and wrecked the flex plate

Hi Guys

Ran my car at WSID the other week and the best result was 13.1.

I was on street tyres and there was next to no wheel spin.

Stalled it to about 3000RPM, which may not be enough.

Its an 4 speed auto BTW.

Pretty disappointed at that time considering I'm running a phase three with 315 ATW at my disposal.

I’m going back in a couple of weeks, so I’m looking for some tips.

Dose that sound right on street tyres and will semi slicks make that much difference?

One thing I noticed was the car started pinging just before the ¼ line, so I may have a fuel supply issue.

What do you guys think?

Hey Micksta,

From the power levels that you have given and your stall speed of around the 3grand mark...is very strange that you did not wheelspin half the track using street tyres....your 115 mph is a touch down on those power levels.......

I have a ba ute like yourself...2800 stall convertor with 5 kw less than you...and have run 11.3 120 mph with mt/et streets.(1.66 60 ft)...to give you a indication of something similiar.

Let us know how you go with it all...just seems a bit weird ...id go out again this time with mt et streets, and you should be seeing a tumble in times.
