Posted 25/05/08 09:56 AM Author Share Posted 25/05/08 09:56 AM When it was built originally it had e series valve body and solenoids! Use E series or A series planetries, they are less brittle to the BA ones, so are less prone to chipping. Standard BA valve body, standard solenoids. IIRC turn Solenoid 5 about a 1/4 of a turn and let the tuner do the rest.By fugging with the valve body and solenoids, it made the auto very very hard to control with the pcm. Basically they had upped the line pressures manually which is a no no according to most, cos it makes the pcm controlled transistions from hi/lo pressure go AWOL. You are being lead to believe that those parts are a stronger aftermarket part. The simple fact of the matter is that the bands and clutches they ALL use are just the standard items as they are the only type available. There are plenty of people being taken for a ride with these things and Marcus and I were two of them. Band has not been adjusted properly and it has a nice slip on the down change. As far as warranty goes I WOULD NOT take it back to them FOR FEAR OF BEING CHARGED to fix something they should have right in the first place. If I am going to pay for it I might as well take it to a place that I know get the job done right the first time. Another Prestons Auto bites the dust. They seem to hold up alright when the car is in stock tune though. $2600 dollars for a Useless autos rebuild was well worth the money. Another happy customer. Would have been cheaper and better off to put in a stocker from the wreckers. I just got sick and tired of sending either my gearbox or my car to melbourne to get fixed, and since its my daily driver I only use my bigger tune for dyno days and some cruises. When I phoned them I was told it was just an adjustment.I had my Ford dealer fix it when they did the roadworthy and it turns out they fitted the cable/bracket incorrectly. Never missed a beat after it was corrected.I spent (I prefer robbed or raped) of $5k in 10 months. Not bad for a box with a "warranty!"
