If it's not available then I get the 6hr ones and usually do a double or take 1, then see how it goes. They have pseudoephedrine and anti histamine. Anti histamine is the stuff you want, it actually attacks the allergy and reasons for allergy, and the pseudo helps dry it up. Usually the body produces too much histamine when the nose/eyes/mouth come into contact with pollen or other hayfever causing substances, and the anti histamine inhibits the production of histamine. Histamine causes the body to create excess nasal juice to try and rid the pollen etc Only problem is, the anti histamine can make you drowsy, especially if you have a boring, behind the desk type job! Usually anything with a anti histamine and a bit of pseudo should do the trick, good luck! Years ago I was prescribed Avomine, and now it's available from pharmacies without a prescrition, but you have to specifically ask for it. When they ask you what you want it for(and they will) just say hayfever. It's always worked for me, but warning: it can make you drowsy. Since I started using it the difference has been huge, definately works wonders for me. Give it a go.For a long term solution though, consider laser acupuncture. I know it sounds a bit far out, but for a lot of people it can be a permanent solution as its all about stimulating certain nodes under the skin to help your body be more capable of dealing will allergens/irritants etc... Theres a government accredited acupuncturists association you can contact for more info. Zurtech, Claratyne, Telfast, Balladonna none of that sh#t works. Can anyone recommend a good product/remedy which has worked for them?Yours truely,SnifflesI actually got told by a mate in the uk when I was living there, that he went to a witchdoctor (this isnt a joke) and he rubbed all these flowers and polen stuff all over his face till he was all coloured in like, and apparantly he was cured. You can get injections, but I dont think they work for everybody, I suffer from heyfever severely, but I have been using a thing called polaramine, there little red tablets I think you can buy over the counter, I started taking whole ones but because their drowsey I only take half a tablet, but same as you this was the only thing that worked for me, everything else only worked intermittently. dont drink on them unless you want a really cheap night out either!!!The other thing I found with polaramine is that since ive started taking it, the less im dependant on it, I dont know if its meant to work that way, but I havnt had any for over 2 months, im all but cured. still get the occasional sneezing fit with the sweating and everything else that goes with it, give it a go.
