External Wastegate. Who's Using One?

One of the great reasons for using a large diameter external gate is boost control, sure you can get 400 using an internally gated turbo on 19psi...

With the small internal gate you can't have a BIG power set up, ie high flowing intake/IC/plenum/exhaust, and be able to drop the boost down to 10psi for a tame daily driver. It just wont flow enough air to bypass the exhaust housing and reduce boost... an external gate will let you do so.

why would you bother..? internal is good for 400kw plus..see billsta

in any other performance scene internal wastegates are laughed at

they just dont work anywhere near as good as external gates as far as total flow goes,then there is the fact that they open earlier wasting valuable power,and then they spike hard which if you are on the limits of your fuel system will break the engine.

I will be testing a few setups soon and you will be able to see the benefits of an external gate over the internal one

here's a question, is it reliable to run two turbos off one external gate? The only reason for this that I can think of would be a space restriction.

it is possible but you would need to look at the size of the turbos.

it would be possible if you were running say 2x 400hp turbos instead of 1x 800hp turbo but not if you were running 2x 800hp turbos.
