RAP1D Member Donating Members 3,739 Member For: 17y 11m 7d Gender: Male Location: Sydney NSW Posted 04/02/08 11:07 PM Share Posted 04/02/08 11:07 PM One of the great reasons for using a large diameter external gate is boost control, sure you can get 400 using an internally gated turbo on 19psi...With the small internal gate you can't have a BIG power set up, ie high flowing intake/IC/plenum/exhaust, and be able to drop the boost down to 10psi for a tame daily driver. It just wont flow enough air to bypass the exhaust housing and reduce boost... an external gate will let you do so.CheersChris Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
