Ok gang here is my idea.

I want to use a V8 bonnet and add a shacker. Why? Well I want to change the intercooler but keep it in it's current position.

So my questions are.

Is there an aftermarket intercooler that will give me a gain and have it mounted in it's current position? Using the shacker to direct cool air onto it.

I really do not like the idea of putting a ginormous intercooler up front.

well firstly, you are gonna need some custom pipe work made up to hook the shaker up to the inlet, then you are gonna have to fit an air filter in between all that so your not sucking in rocks and bugs straight to your turbo!

Personally, I think it will be too much trouble for the result gained, if you must have the shaker, you could put it on, but get a new plenum and cooler, run the filter off the turbo and just have the shaker for looks.

The shaker kits are designed for the V8's, but I think they have a 6cyl version, regardless, all of them are designed to feed cool air into the standard airbox. That said it is a redundant design as the air from the shaker has to flow forward to get into the airbox.

Good information guys the only difference is that I want to run a small radiator type intercooler in place of the standard one and have the air from the shaker flow through it. I was not going to change from the airbox at the front of the car.

I dont understand what you mean about the intercooler, you can put a monza cooler in there as this matches the standard plumbing, just paint it black if you dont like the chrome look.

if you fit the shaker with the standard plumbing/crossover/cooler, you will have to plumb the feed from the shaker in somewhere, ie the bottom of the airbox

It's a good idea but I can't see it being any better that the aftermarket intakes, the whole front of your car is a bigger airdam than the front of a shaker. At least it would piss the V8 boys off

Where can I find these Monza intercoolers. The idea was for something different and not altering the stock configuration. I may alter the airbox later but I wanted a simple design with a little extra.
