FWIW - I bought mine without a test drive.....

I drove the N/A XR6 and decided that it was a better car than the Late model camira and trusted the reviews and power figures quoted.

Westpoint may be able to help you in to a car sooner. They did for me wiping about 2 months off the greulling wait.

Welcome Timbo...I ordered my "T" without test driving it first...went back a week later and test drove it...WHAT A FRIGGIN MISTAKE THAT WAS!!!!!! it blew me away....I have now endured a 4 very very slow months for my baby and am within days of taking her home......very mentally testing....maybe order without test driving that way you don't know what your missing out on.......

Yea just order the bloody thing timbo, I also got mine without a test drive(sounds like the best thing I ever did,zman?)Xr6tas will take you for a spinn ,that should do ya. and welcome.

I didn't test drive until I had ordered either.

There's no denying it - after driving the T, XR8, SS, CV8 there is no comparison - The T is faster, stronger and better attuned to the road than all of them (except the T for obvious reasons ).

Sure if you don't want a permanent grin spread across your face don't get the T but if you do - then do like us and get the beast - she won't dissapoint you!

I too, have been 'listening in' to this forum for a couple of months and finally I have taken the plunge and taken stock of my XR6T just last week (after 3 months for delivery) so just like timbo I'd also make it official. I have been mainly been into the Jap & Expensive Daewoo cars in the past but am full on spinning out on how fantastic my new XR6T is!! I was a bit skeptical at first and I too bought the car without test driving it (only an XR6 std). But thanks to all your posts and all the other good topics, I've never looked back! So don't worry about it timbo, you won't be disappointed, trust me it is worth the wait.... :D

ps. Anyone have any feedback regarding Turbo Timers for the XR6T? Is it needed and if so, does anyone recommend any?

I too ordered my XR6T without taking one for a test drive. First time I drove a Turbo was when I drove mine out of the dealership. They didn't even have a N/A XR6 for me to test drive, I only got to test drive an XT. Being a Ford person my whole life and having read all the reviews and seeing all the pictures of the BA's, I just knew that I had to have one. Short of the XT breaking down, falling apart or something similar, I don't think anything could have put me off the Turbo.
