  1. Congrats Sweet Xr, great car, great colour!!!
  2. Congrats Velvet Glove, I've had my Blueprint T just 13 days now, and my cheeks hurt from all the grinning :D It's also great for my fitness, 'cause I keep running out to the work carpark to make sure no d..kh..d has opened their door into it!! Enjoy!!
  3. Hey pym, how so? There seems to be so many catches with novated leasing and taxes

    Turbo Info

Thanks dankman, I'll check it out
  5. As I'm not very mechanically minded, I was wondering if any of you guys could recommend a website where I could read up on turbos, ie how they work, what to look out for, why we don't need timers, etc. Now that I actually own a T, I would like to be informed in case anyone asks!! Cheers, Timbo.
  6. Am I the only "old fart" that thinks Mark Knopfler should rate a mention somewhere here?? He and Stevie Ray Vaughan head my list!!
  7. Since I'm now a bona-fide owner :D , I've added my vote to the poll - that doubles the membership to two down here in Tassie! Hey XR6Tas, how many do we need to qualify for a cruise??
  8. Picked up my new baby on Thursday! Arrived at the dealers in Launceston mid afternoon with the family in tow, including my two boys aged 11 & 7 who had no idea what was going on!! Drove into the showroom parking bay, and the first thing they said was "Wow Dad, look at that blue one!" Sure enough, there she was out front, shining in the afternoon sun, tinted, rego'd and ready to go!! When I told them that was our new car, their eyes nearly popped I'm 42 years old and have been driving for 25 years, but believe it or not, this is my first brand new car!! You guys have already experienced the feeling, but the smell, the feel, the interior, was better than I could have imagined. I went for Plexis Grey cloth instead of the Blueprint, and it looks great, a little more subtle and easier on the eye IMO. After the paperwork and normal dealer familiarisation run through, they filled it with fuel, I checked all the settings, and eased her out on to the road for the first time. The first thing that struck me was the ride quality, the smoothness and quietness, and sheer ease with which she travels. My nervous right foot didn't allow too much with so few k's up, but I could just tell that the power would be there when I wanted it. We had planned a few days break at a nearby resort, so I drove the 20 odd k's there just getting used to the feel of the car - and being stared at wherever I went! B) There's a lot fewer XR's on the road down here in Tassie, especially Turbos, so you do get noticed! Drove home to Hobart on Saturday, and was able to do a bit of the running in thing along the way. Was gentle for most of it though, with a couple of squirts on overtaking just to get the buzz happening again. My 11 year old in the passenger seat just grinned for the whole two hour trip, whilst the 7 yo in the back seat fell asleep!! Meanwhile, swmbo kept switching from behind me to in front in her Corolla so that she could decide which was the best view! Got home and gave her a wash with the good old Meguiars (the car, not the wife :D ) - did find a paint blemish and a chip :( that I'm going to have a discussion with the dealer about, but they have been great so far, so am not expecting any problems. Drove her to work today - can't get the smile off my face!!! The best things? The whole package just looks and feels so good, love the colour (Blueprint), the Premium Sound (worth every cent, although I love music, I'm no audiophile!), the feel and look of the Sports steering wheel - a must have IMO. Even the little things like the Boot liner is, I think, well worth getting. Oh well, must go and "visit some more clients" if you know what I mean!! Cheers, Tim.

    Colour Wars Ii

Deadly! Now, what colour do you have? G'day Ken, 10 days away from Booootiful Blueprint! I could have picked it up tomorrow (it's at the dealers getting tinted & towpack fitted, but have to go to Sydney for work, then Melbourne, and won't be back in Tassie until next week (I know, my priorities and timing are all wrong!!) The suspense is killing me! :(

    Colour Wars Ii

You guys crack me up!! Thanks, what a great way to start the week!! What's that???? You're.......serious??
  11. I actually had a dream last night about taking delivery of my new toy.......only trouble was, I couldn't pick her up, so had to get one of the ladies in our office to go and take delivery for me When I finally got to drive her, (the car, not the lady  ) she turned out to be a manual, not an auto (I could cope with that!), she was all dirty (aagh, noooo!), the boot carpet had somehow covered the centre console ( ), and she had no more acceleration than my wife's Corolla (pffft, as if that's gonna happen ) Needless to say, I woke up in a cold sweat! (But I could tell, I was at least half excited )
  12. The Ford dealer here had an XT in the showroom, (in that rather scientific HgAg colour )done up with a bodykit and wheels to vaguely resemble an XR. Strange thing was, when a mate of mine went in to look at it, the price they had on it was higher than a genuine n/a XR6!! Funny guys these dealers!!
  13. WOW This may well be the longest two weeks of your life  Are we there yet??? Didn't the bell just go???? What time is it now???? Geesh, how did you guys wait for months??? :(
  14. Congrats Familia, nice colour Now, get out and drive her!!
  15. Hmmm..... secret sex club hey Ken ..... sounds interesting  Is it just me or is everyone here overly concerned about which colour 'T' they have. Please do not feed the monkey!!
