I didn't actually enter but answered all the questions and got 38/55. Mark Skaife got 39/55 and Sam Newman got 37/55. The highest was some driving instructor woman with 48/55.

The smartest groups in the studio were:

Driving Instructors(1st) - 76 percent of answers right

Truckies (2nd) - 67 percent

Taxi Drivers (3rd) - 65 percent

P-platers(4th) - 62 percent

Women (5th) - 61 percent

Celebs(6th) - 59 percent

Over65s (6th) - 57 percent

Internet test results

State vs State

Queensland 33.5

New South Wales 33.1

Victoria 32.9

Northern Territory 32.4

Tasmania 32.3

South Australia 32.1

Western Australia 31.6

(Dunno what happened to ACT, they said it was second on the show last night  )

People who drive RED cars only got 32.8 :bookworm: Every other colour car driver scored better!

Manual car drivers scored better than auto.

Sportscar drivers (is a T a sports car?) scored second last, just ahead of cyclists (I'm a cyclist too!).

There were some dumb questions. Like the high beam one - when can you use your high beam - the answer was as you come up behind someone to overtake! :beerchug:

Did not participate as I have a pet hate for anything with Eddie in it.:cussing: So I don't watch channel nine much. Also what was Catrina doing on TV without her bikini, (so someone told me).

The high beam one was a very poorly worded question but some of you older guys might remember that on your indicator stalks some years ago that pull back(high beam flash) was marked PASS. The way it sounded was that the only time you could use high beams at night is while overtaking.

BEGIN RANT

The worst question in my opinion was the post box one if the answer was that you could stop right in front of it why do all the post boxes that I have seen have "NO STANDING" emblazened on it??????

The show was a crock IMHO as it showed no correlation of driving skills it was just a test of theoretical questions (most of which bear little relevance to safety) Who here would need to know that a fire hydrant is 2.3 metres from this sign.(havent seen a water pumper option on a T)

The wrap up was another wan* the difference between most states/ages/car type/gender/colour was less than half a mark. And they made such a big deal of it.

The celebrities had no chance as there were so few of them every incorrect answer cost them 1/10 of a percent whereas the other groups it was more like 1/40 of a percent.

The worst result in my opinion was the driving instructors this is their job and they got a quarter of the questions wrong!!!

Eddie got up my nose harping on about speed.Until every car on the road has a HUD on the windscreen speed tolerances should be higher (much rather have people looking where they are going instead of having there noses ensconced in the dash to make sure they dont go over by up to 3kmh)

END RANT

41. The test was a complete sham which tested nothing about your observation and anticipation skills behind the wheel - but then again that's kinda hard to do on a tv show and on the internet.

Quite miffed that ACT is not on the 'State by State' rankings. Channel 9 can stick it.

The funniest part is the fact that Deborah Hutton was on there! About 15 years ago - completely pissed out of her mind - she ran straight through an intersection in the rocks area in Sydney without looking and slammed into my cousin who was waiting on the other side in his Escort which was bright orange no less! And THEN she tried to claim that she had no money and couldn't pay for his repairs!

And I cant believe the woman that won the choice of the holdens chose the vectra :hmmm::hmmm:

I would have chosen the caprice (worth the most) and sold it the next day, then strolled down and ordered either a fully optioned T (with enough change for a low end focus  ) or a GT-P <_<

EDIT: I got 37 out of 55, or 67.3%

Back to back Simpsons repeats at 7:30 sounded more exciting than Eddie. Although I must admit flicking channels in the ad breaks to get me dose of catrina. mmmmmm
