OK and thanks guys, that's all I wanted to know, If the head would bolt strait on, But seeing as it dosent there is now no need for me to ask that question ever again! cheers.

No one knew and ive wanted to know for months so that's sorted.

Nice engine to I might add the ol 4-0 sohc, very well built but how do the standard rods hold up to any mods? rev and torque wise... :spoton:

All I can say is from experience (Ea anniversary model) with the 4.0l singlie point injection, did a 200kmh+ run when I was young and dumb (the gearing was just wayyy to low on the first of the 4 speed autos). When I pulled up I had weird noises, turned out I snapped half of the head bolts. More power in it? maybe, you never know.

Thanks Nick. I have a 2nd K frame here in a wreck that I was going to use but if you can do the one in it then the engine doesnt have to come out again. :spoton:

ill do this on and neat!

I remember a ford engineer saying the reason the ba lpg cars need a different rod and the earlier cars don't is because of the heads flow rate, ie the early model head doesn't flow enough to break the stock rods (although they were apparently close to their limits) where the ba flowed enough that in the event of a back fire the ba stock petrol rods would break
