My First Accident

@##U%^$$#C**@K !!!!!

Now a 4 week old car 'aint gonna feel new anymore...

Had my very first accident yesterday ,after only having the "T" for 4 weeks

and I can tell you, this little duck is NOT a happy camper....

3:15 pm yesterday, heading home from work along usual route(10 mins to home), about half way pull up at stop sign with cross-street traffic steady but not busy. This spot is a little notorious for traffic travelling in my direction with a hill about 30-40 metres to my left on the said cross-street where traffic travels one-way (left-to-right) in two lanes.

Therefore, the traffic negotiating the crossing of this road (in my direction),

has precious little time to do so when it has steady traffic.

Anyhow, I"ve only seen one car approach me in the lane nearest to me, and as soon as it's passed, I've gunned it to get across...

And phuk me if there is'nt a B&W cab, HIDDEN from view, beside the car that's just passed across me, who has decided to slam on the stoppers to move across to the lane closest to me.

MOTHE####### !!!!!!!

B A N G ! ! ! ! ! I've collected the cab on the rear quater panel, spun him around 180 degrees ( the 'T' did'nt budge off line an inch), B U T..............

it has suffered significant cosmetic damage to the front-end which includes..

Front spoiler buckeled & torn ,drivers side head light is cactus, drivers side foggie popped out ,front grill (below bonnet) smashed into pieces, bonnet creased in front( to about 3 inches back)...

No damage to the intercooler, or anything inside the entire engine bay ( insurance assessor told us there is no mechanical damage to it ) and airbags did not deploy...

Now I could go on and on about the circumstances of this friggin' tragic occurence, but choose not to as it serves no purpose, except to enrage my normally calm and collective self..!

Whilst these sort of accidents do occur frequently, and human error is inevitable from time to time, It's hard to grasp the timing of my first-ever accident, albeit in our new "T".

:angryfire:

Me gonna go drown thy mind and body with some firewater now :flameman:

and when I wake up, the "T" shall be back in thy arms..........!

OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone had to be the first but its a title none of us wants, lucky the engine bay and bits are ok, especially the hairdryer. Hope you get an excellent repair job.

Sad news but we can all learn from your misfourtune, those bloody pillars are so huge they can hide trucks behind them, especialy at intersections and roundabouts. So folks make sure look again ,you might loose a bit of time BWTF better than smashing up your T.I nearley hit a cyclist at a roundabout with my T two days old so I know the feeling.

tiger .. glad you are ok mate :birthdaywish:

it must have been a wack ... but the airbags didn't deploy ??? :beerchug:

have a good mechanic check the airbags and the engine bay etc etc (I don't trust insurance assessors with mechanical stuff)

it all will be better soon :tears:

Ahhhh nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

S**t dude, Sorry to hear that.

The main thing is that you ARE OK!!

Was your car one of the cars on the Maleny Cruise? (Was it also a car purchased at Bryan Byrt, as approx 4 of the group of 7 were)!

If you can choose the panel beater, I'd recommend going to "Fender Mender" on Kessels Rd near "Linda's Place". That's who BBF recommend to do all their repair/touch-up work and who did the re-spray on the spoiler/boot, courtesy of Ford. *Perfect job * They are a small operation but they have worked on some sweet cars. The guy also loves taking ppl around to show the projects he is currently working on as well.

Hope everything is sorted out quickly dude.

Take care.

ED.

and I felt like a mother bird neglecting its babys.

but at the end of day your car is always fixed but your life isnt replaceable!

GOOD LUCK MATE!
