August 1, 200719 yr #1 I was thinking and wondering if anyone has as yet converted or put shift paddles onto their BA-BF as yet and how did if go.The other thing is would people buy a kit if they knew it would work? I know I would
August 1, 200719 yr #2 im sure it cant be too hard I think, cos the ZF gearbox in "manual" mode is only hitting switches when you push it backwards and forwards.. its not manually engaging a gear like the old gearboxes when you had to push the stick from 1, to 2 through to Drive.Maybe we can put paddles with switches behind the steering wheel and splice them into the cables under the gear stick.Thoughts anyone?
August 1, 200719 yr #3 im sure I read on the site that somebody was selling their T & it had an "SMG style" shift costing $7k?
August 1, 200719 yr #4 I would like to remap the Audio controlls on the wheel to do that. There is a + and - for the volume that would be great to do the gears as I rarely use the wheel audio controls.
August 1, 200719 yr #5 I have to say that I prefer changing gears with a shifter. Not too fussed on the paddles.
August 1, 200719 yr #6 The only reason I want an M3 is for the steering wheel paddles. lol... Bring it on I say...
August 1, 200719 yr #7 I'm sure its not that difficult. Whats under the gear selector, are there microswitches that make contact when you push it into - and +, while in PERF mode?

August 1, 200719 yr #9 Hall effect sensors maybe ... with the spacing that would be off the 4 speed, wonder what the ZF box uses. Edited August 1, 200719 yr by loopism
August 1, 200719 yr #10 I always thought I would like paddle shifts. I also have a Honda Civic Sport MY07 that has paddle shifts and they are not that great! When your coming out of a corner depending on lock on the tiller it can be difficult to change gears.
