May 5, 200719 yr #1 When I am driving on the freeway my cruise control is not working. It goes to the cruise function but not the set. The weird thing is every now and then it does work. Has any one had this problem before.
May 5, 200719 yr #2 Check your brakelights. Also, you have not replaced them with LED lights per chance ?If so there is your problem
May 5, 200719 yr #3 I found out the hard way too. Car did not like LED Globes. I had to stop and put the standard Globes back in. After that all was well again.
May 5, 200719 yr #4 Author Have you been spying on me. I actually have replaced my brake lights with led ones. This is because my ute is quite low and bumpy and was blowing too many red globes($20 each) too often as I have clear lights. How can these leds cause the cruise not to work. They must be on the same circuit and the leds must have some resistance or something. Its strange how it works sometimes though. I cant recall if it works during the day when the lights are off and it doesnt work when the lights are on, I will have to try. Thanks for your fast response. Edited May 5, 200719 yr by igsta
May 5, 200719 yr #5 They don't supply the same resistance as the normal globes so the cruise module will not let the cruise set as it can't detect when the brakes are applied properly.I had the clear tail lights and got sick and tired of replacing the red globes too. The red tint paint cracks if you try normal globes and paint them.My clear lights are now in the shed and I have a new set of after markets with the red reflectors in the them ( The clear ones you have now and not road worthy and you can be defected for having them.I got a set of AU globe connectors so I can now buy the cheap older style globes and not the wedge type used on the BA-BF I still go through heaps of globes though.
