Advice needed

have the 6 speed box and am getting some 2nd gear crunch especially when the box is cold.

Have taken it to ford and they changed all the syncro's and it still does it

any ideas for what it could be??????????

Apart from what F6 ute said, are you still running the factory trans oil? If so, switch it to Transmax Z, it made a vast improvement in the shift quality of mine.

Id be lookinjg closley @ your clutch fluid first (Known Problem) the heat generated in that area breaks down the fluid and turns it into Muck replace it asap with something decent.....not the ford product, BTW Transmax Z is the top oil replacement for the gearbox and it does improve shift quality..... but I dont think it is the cause of your problem...

Try the clutch fluid first... Bleed it properly... good luck !!!!

I have the same issue mate.... ford just said its not bad enough to worry about and should get better with more K's :idunno:

sometimes it feels like ive left the box on the road  the thing is that most times its ok... does not do it all the time......

I have had a new clutch put in and that did jack

Check your gear stick is tight on the selector on the gear box and flush and bleed the clutch. You'd be amazed at the difference.. :spoton:
