May 24, 200323 yr #1 anyone experienced a high pitched whine noise at 100-110 kph - freeway steady speed driving ?seems like a windnoise ??any comments would be helpfull............Cheers
May 24, 200323 yr #2 I like how you say 100-110. pretty funny when I believe you have to be going around 150+ to get your car to do this. well that's what someone told me of course. id never go that fast!!!
May 25, 200323 yr #3 Do you mean the bloody annoying low pitched drone from the front window liner that comes on strong at 130 - 140 kph?A Shyte isn't it!
May 25, 200323 yr #4 Its your windscreen sealing. Its faulty. My renter had it last week it was so load you couldnt hear the radio!
May 26, 200323 yr #5 My T has a whine at 100-110. It is definitely differential. Took it in to Ford and they said that there had been a few with the problem and the first step was to put an additive into the oil. This was done and no difference was noticed. It is booked-in for next week about some other issues (brake shudder) and they will be looking at it again then. They mentioned last time that if the additive didn't work, then they will probably have to look at replacing the diff.
May 26, 200323 yr #6 camerooch, its the top windscreen seal, too bloody thin, you must be very unlucky to get it at 100 -110 kph My bird is going in tomorrow to get repaired, hopefully they have to replace the windscreen and put a thicker bead of urethane under the windscreen. It's a Ford fix (warranty), methinks Ford are going to be spending heaps on windscreens somehow.
May 27, 200323 yr #7 I live in Adelaide and drove over to Melbourne on the weekend. I didn't experience any whine, and most of the driving was done at 100-110...
May 27, 200323 yr #8 this whine... did it sound like this??? Slow down, youre going too fast, look out for that car etc. ????????
May 27, 200323 yr #9 Deffinate Ford Issue with ba windscreen most of the time it is the seal, if you go see your dealer they already know about the fix and if they dont tell them to refer to there workshop manual as there is a chapter about it, I have had a quick glimps of my dealers one and it is in there and how to diagnose where it is comming from they usually use a stephiscope and listen for where the air is leaking from. the problem occurs at high speeds due to the cabbin pressure being lower than the pressure pusshing against the seal any ways tell you dealer to replace the seal ....
May 27, 200323 yr #10 Take it back to your dealer,I had my "T" for 2 days and they replaced the windscreen and seal.
