Im using thin flat LED lights incorperated into the back of the tray frame. Should look good im not keen on the round lights dont like corvette/skyline rear lights.

Jarrah ull get a deep rich red/brown

look into brushbox not as dark as jarrah (like a gallah's feathers lol) more pinks an grays but still very hard

on the other hard try a light colour timber...hard rock maple ( from california or canada) very very hard and comes up really nice when oiled

or even try tasy oak. we do alot of stair treads at work with tasy oak very durable

depending on wot colour your car is a dark/light contrast mite look cool

black body light timber tray

but do definatly use a hard wood.

thanks for the advise. I really want a dark red finish but a light colour would look good aswell. How much do you think it would cost to put tassy oak or brushbox on the tray?

a better timber than Jarrah to use is Quilla when polished looks the same as Jarrah but it is a tiffer timber and last longer in th weather it is the same timber used to make jetties.

my parents have a jarrah table and the chairs are Quilla they were oiled at the same time and the jarrah table needed polishing again before the Quilla chairs.

Hey Judd

Here is a pic of a XR8 with a tray. Sorry about the photo. Was on a old phone. There is a bionic tornado geeting around Mackay and looks good. Must be a work ute as he has 2 great big aluminium tool boxes on the back.

Also there is a xr6 in at Frendley Motors.Bit not sure if it has a wood floor. My son is going in there today so I will get him to get some pictures.

Cheers

Paul
