Try running the heater and aircon at the same time, or just heater to dry out all the lines.

Its not gas.

The gas used is odourless. Even if it wasn't, if there was enough leaking that you could smell it, it would have run out by now and there would be no a/c.

My bet is that you run it on the re-circ setting.

I've always run car a/c's on full fresh air unless travelling behind a smoky vehicle. The only time I've ever had a smell is if I have forgotten to turn it back to full fresh air.

Give it a try.

If you already did this then :bum:

I tried the option of full heater, full fan, fresh air for about half an hour.. and seeing it was 36+ in Melbourne yesterday, this fat santa dropped a few suit sizes me thinks! :bum:

I think it actually fixed the smell as later in the day and again this morning no smell, will also start using the fresh option and turning the A/C 5 mins before home and see how it goes.

Worse case will pull out the glenn 20 after xmas..

Thanks for eveyones help!

what u need to do is turn off the ac pump about 60 seconds before u stop and allow the air temp in the pipes time to get back to ambient temperature.

this will prevent condensation from forming in the ducting thus stopping bacteria growth and removing the smell. :spoton:

I do this along with turning up the fan to high. If it gets real bad I leave the car running turn the heater on high turn the fan on high and good bye smell.

Bacteria is not the cause of the smell otherwise it would stink all the time. It is simply humid and damp ducts left sitting for a while. As said before use fresh air when possible and switch off your A/C about 1-2 mins before parking.
