When referring to “next weekend” do you take it as the coming weekend, or the following weekend?

Currently having a disagreement over this with another forum member who would no doubt like to remain nameless in fear of embarrassment, but what does everyone reckon?

For example, today is Thursday 07th. If I refer to something occurring next weekend, do you take that as Saturday 09th & Sunday 10th – or Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th

Yes I know the poll is almost as lame as something Saleen would instigate, so feel free to flame me if desired. :msm:
