Unless you have the in/outlet in the middle or huge tanks no intercooler will efficiently perform at the furthest point away from the in/outlet. This is generally why 300mm is the largest common size, To go larger ie 400 you do not get the same effect of cooling for the surface area gained.

It takes a lot of work to fit that size cooler in, looks great.

Looks great dude. Got any pics with the front bumper back on? Is there any overhang underneath the bumper and can you see the top part of the cooler through the top grille (where the ford badge is)?

Yes the tanks are tight at the top section, but unfortunatly we dont have all that much room to play with without going to extremes with the angle grinder...

Its still too low so I will move it up an inch so the under guard fits better and doesnt bulge down. Once the core moves up it will be very close to the headlights so larger tanks wont fit.

Sure its not perfect, but its a zillion times better than stock and didnt cost a grand.

I got it from the states via yahoo auctions, Ive serched for ages to find something this size but unfortunatly we dont see them in Oz too often

Seeing as the end tanks are very tight at the top, it can be expected that there will be reduced flow through that section.

Given also, that the bumper assembly occludes direct air onto the centre section of the IC, you also get reduced effectiveness if you raise the IC.

You might find that you will get better measurable efficiency by modifying the guard panel underneath to allow the IC to get as much of it's surface exposed in the bottom sector of the grille opening, as that is where the majority of the air will flow.

just a thought.

Isnt that apart of the chassi, so technically if you cut it with out a engineer certificate it would be a write off. TECHNICALLY (if that's right ???)
