As some of you know, my poor beastie is in getting it's rear end fixed after being violated by a convertable Holden. I have been driving a Rental BF XT in a lovely shade of White.

When I got this car it had 28,300km on the clock. As soon as I started it, I knew it had had a very hard life. The motor rattled into life and I am sure it has piston slap. The steering has creek, the handbrake does not work, the gearbox is lazy and the motor has no power.

I had driven it for 10 days and felt embarrased that Ford made a car that felt so used so soon. I then got a call from Hertz and they wanted the car back to swap for another Ford. I was hoping for a XR6, but nope...another white BF XT with 28,100km on the clock.

As soon as I start it I notice a normal sounding motor and I left a black stripe out of the Hertz driveway due to the power this thing has. It is like Chalk and Cheese, I cannot believe the difference between the 2 cars. Everything works fine and the car would have 50rwkw more than the other one.

I guess it makes me thankful that my F6 feels well build and not a friday arvo/monday morning lemon. I just though some may be interested in different build qualities as I do not think it could just be the car having a hard life.

Oh and with any luck I will have my car fixed by Friday.

I know exactly what you mean, the change between my BA and the BF is more than a model change. Everything just seems right in the new one so at the end of the day it all comes down to luck of the draw.

That means one day they'll be rolling off the production line absolutely perfect :spoton:

Probably about the same time I'll be able to afford one :spoton:

I drive 6 - 10 BA or BF xts per day and I have never had 2 or them drive the same...

to me it is a worry.

I wrote the BF xr6 turbo 6 speed manual off when they came out,

until 6 months ago I drove a 6 speed manual BF which had alot more get up and go then the first one...

I have never driven 2 that are alike...
