As per the title,

When comes time to replace the stock clutch out of a BA XR6T with the T5, does this present an opportunity to, as a precaution to strengthen the T5?

If so, what maintenance is recommeded and a rough idea of costs involved, keeping in mind that phenominal amounts of HP is not desired but to handle 270-290rwkw.

Thanks

D

I dont think there's much more than using good fluid (Transmax Z, Redline Shockproof or similar) and a gentle nature to keep the T5 going!

I'm with lumpy on this one... not worth doing anything else to it really. You dont need to do anything when replacing the clutch but some Tranzmax Z will help extend its life and make it a bit smoother.

Why have a car with around 280rwkw and baby it about when you know that the T5 just won't hold. The T5 that is in the XR6T is the strongest T5 built for factory and I can not see the sense in throwing good money after bad building up a Transmission with expensive aftermarket components when the T56 cures all your problems.
