September 21, 200620 yr #1 I have a friend who has a unmodified T which has a clutch and he hasnt even taken it in for the 15K service yet has anyone needed to claim waranty on a T56 clutch before and how much hassle was it to get ford to replace it?My mate tells me that he just wants to get an after market clutch because the stockie failed so early but im telling him that this is Fords problem and they should be the ones fixing it.has anyone talked to a dealer about putting in a phoon clutch into a XR before???
September 21, 200620 yr #2 what do you mean.... it slips constantly??It will be difficult to do on warrenty.
September 21, 200620 yr #3 Mate one of two things is happeningAt stock power he has a sh*t clutch and should get it replaced under warranty. They do hold stock power well, and I am running 220rwkw and it hold great until I launch it above 2000 rpm. Never slips unless launching hard.Secondly your mate is hard on clutches and has f*cked a perfectly good clutch, which case he is better of getting an aftermarket jobbie.Scotty
September 21, 200620 yr #4 Author what do you mean.... it slips constantly??It will be difficult to do on warrenty.←it doesnt slip all the time. when I drove it she really didnt like grabbing after a hard ish 1st to 2nd change. It also died (smoked up) when I tried to ride a quick take off like I do in my car to avoid wheel spin.this is why im telling him to go for a phoon clutch, my car would have around 100RWKWs more than his with a tune that's known for frying clutchs and I havent ever had a problem with riding the clutch alittle on a hard take off.
September 21, 200620 yr #5 Author Secondly your mate is hard on clutches and has f*cked a perfectly good clutch, which case he is better of getting an aftermarket jobbie.I wouldnt say the guy is hard on clutches, he only got me to take his car for a drive after telling me his clutch was and told me that he has never pushed his car as hard on a take off as I did and he was more than a little worried at the amount of smoke I was able to produce in under 2 minutes of testing
September 21, 200620 yr #6 I've smoked the clutch changing into 2nd doing stupid stuff. It happens. I very much doubt he will get warranty.
September 21, 200620 yr #7 The wog has a cheap twin plate clutch setup, a dealer would charge a fortune to supply and fit one ( an F6 one )
September 21, 200620 yr #8 Author The wog has a cheap twin plate clutch setup, a dealer would charge a fortune to supply and fit one ( an F6 one )yeah I know, that's why I was asking for feedback on a warranty claim on a clutch the wogs clutch is a very good option for the money but IMHO it should be fords problem and they should give him a clutch that doesnt fall apart in 5000 k's.
