As they say, pay was great, but what a sh*tehole, good for drinking!!!!!!

It was a 10 days on, one day off deal. 10hrs a day. Meals and acc supp.

One of the guys on his day off went into Mt Newman with a bunch of other guys. He picked up a very local ( native ) 'sheila' < I think she drank gin????? hint hint.

He woke up in the morning, she (it) had stolen his wallet, and...................

Hey Scotty, most of these are in and out of Rocky, Townsville or Mackay, but depending on what your are doing, maybe Brisbane. If you have a trade in pressure welding,tig welder,mechanical fitter, diesel fitter or similar you currently have the bargining power. My mate is currently in Dampier WA on $120k as a Boilermaker, and as the guys say absolute sh*thole.(plenty of wallet stealers)

He's looking to get into the desalination plant project at the GC which is about to start.

After my stint in the Defence Force, I will do a course in earth moving and tip truck driving, as that is the field I want to get into to. The two weeks on two weeks off saounds great, at least for a couple of years. Beats getting posted every three years.

Anyone have any contacts that I could have a chat with, as I dont want to rush in and make rash decisions.

my bro does exactly what you described, if u want I will ask him what ever question you want, he is 7 on 7 off 7 nights then 7 days, he had loader tickets etc and just compleated 3 other tickets in bris (excavator, dozer and scraper) and has just been put on full time.
