After 15,000km the rear SP9000's are past their use-by date and need replacing.

The main issue I would like to fix is the lack of traction, although any assistance with road noise would be great as well.

So, I'm hoping that the members here can let me know:

1. What is the maximum legal size for a tyre fitted to the standard Typhoon 18" rim?

2. What tyre you feel will be the best performance/value for money combination?

3. How much or where I should shop in Brisbane.

Thanks in advance. :tease:

If traction is what your after then I would suggest either the Dunlop SP Sport Max or the Michelin PS2's they seem to be the best two tyres on the market at the moment. As I have suggested on here before the S03's are an awesome gripping tyre but don't last very long at all.

Cro is your man to talk to as he seems to have the most experiance with tyres on here.

The 18" F6 rim is only 8" wide, so the 245 tyre is about the max you would want to go.

As mentioned some Michs/yokies or pirelli would be the best choice.

I am going with Pilot Sports next time round.

This should be after the FPV drive day in a couple of weeks. :tease:

If you want an ok tyre go the Dunlop Max's or Bridgstone S03, if you want a good tyre go the Yokie V103's or Pirelli P Zero Nero, if you want a great tyre go the Pirelli Rosso's or Michelin PP2's, if you want the best tyre go the Michelin PS2's.

If you want quiet, steer clear of everything but Michelin.

Thanks Cro.

What's your opinion on the maximum size?

Not something I've played with, always kept standard size but just got better tyres :)
