Flash Tuners

I know im opening up a bad debate,but my reasons are if any of the flash tuners have any difference.

I have read a fair few posts on this and other forums but am completly confused if any of the flash boxes come out with different tunes.

1/ CAPA web site says 245rwks

other sites say 257rwks

My question is

When I buy a flash box from capa harrod motorsport so on, is there any difference at all with the 3 basic generic tunes.

I will not be getting the custom tune for a little while as money is very tight and its getting harder to hide it from the misses ha ha ha

Please guys can you please fill me in as to what is the difference in the flash boxes as the prices are all over the show

there was a thread not long ago which stated that tune boxes are blank when sent to a tuner and they upload their own generic tunes.

This is where im confused , I read that thread and then they went off into a story about factory tunes.

If I bought a flash box from herrod it would be different to capa ????

I realise they say the box is blank but I was wondering if the tune they put in is almost the same thing

Well I went to a tuner where the previous owner of the my car had bought the capa flash tune and I went to get the latest generic tunes and he got them sent down from capa and uploaded into my box.

ive spoken to john at herrod a few times about this. he claims that they use thier own tunes in the boxes and not the capa ones if they are the same its prob a stroke of luck

so which one do you guys recommend ???

I wont be getting a custom tune for a while as I dont have the cash

Also I have crimped off the turbo hose for boost (dodgy I know)

and at higher reves the car splutters and carries on (when the boost comes in it feels great)

Is there any cheap fix to fix this splutter (as you can tell im tight on the money side

You are experiencing overboost, and no you can't fix it without a flasher or piggyback.

Get a box and enjoy.

I hope you did'nt clamp off the turbo wastegate tube, if that's the one you will get spikes to about 24 psi, and the ecu will be going into wastegate failure, and using torque control to save your motor.

its best to talk to the place you are going to buy your flash box from

because they have the choice of putting there base tunes in, or the capa tunes.
