Looks great, but was it worth the effort?

To put things in perspective, I painted the stock calipers (removal, cleaning, masque, paint, re-paint, re-fit) and although it looked good, way more effort than it was worth.

I reckon its worth it.. From looking at the pics.

Its about modding your car and getting enjoyment out of it.

Phoon, did you put a light coat of clear enamel over it? Highly recommended to avoid corrosion..

And spill the beens on what compounds you used. Im thinking about doing this myself now.

What is the Bionic Boy Brigade? As far as the radiator hose is concerned, I have made tooling and am manufacturing these. They are full silicone hoses rated to 220c and 145psi of pressure. I am making kits as direct replacements for the XR6's and Phoons. These include top and bottom radiator hoses, bottom over flow bottle hose, two small top over flow bottle hoses and two heater hoses. These are direct replacements for the factory hoses, no joiners required.

I like the look of it, but what I think is the best is the actual composition of the shot. The way the light falls, whether deliberate or not makes it quite classy and dare I saw it, artistic!

Must have used a good camera to take such a photo in low light?

I'm using it as my background now.

cheers for the comments mate, I wish I could claim the photo to be artisticaly done but the photo shot was not deliberate, it was taken late at night when I was putting the plenum back on the car and the light was simply a spot light

sitting on the radiator cowl to give me light under the bonnet to work, the rag covering the throttle body should have given away the fact that it wasnt meant to be artistic.

the other week I had my Rocket cover and upper intake polished, I wasn't that happy with the job so I spent the time and did over my old intake myself.

I'll be porting it out to 75mm (out from 72mm) to match my SS inductions throttle body. Ive also spent a lot of time taking all the webing out between the chambers and no detail was to small to be taken care of. I'll be a F'N winner. When I took it to the polisher to get the final polish done they couldn't belive anyone would take the time to do it as I have and they do them all the time.
