30 Km/h Speed Limit

It will end when we are in our little homes going to and from work not thinking not taking responsbility for ourselves and making sure when we want to fart we get permition. This has to be the most over governed place in the world.

I can fix the problem. Every one STAY HOME. Nup dosent work. Pepole WILL get injured and killed its not a perfect world and will never be. At what point do we stop?

It is ridicules, they should spend the money to teach the kids on how to cross the road properly... most kids don’t even look left or right when crossing pedestrian crossings, they just assume that because there are these white zebra lines on the road that they are bullet proof.. How many parents actually walk and drop there kids off at the front of there school... the parents also need educating. As phantomchic said also parents disobey local road rules by double parking doing u turns across unbroken white lines.

we have had a set of lights installed Near the schools (3 schools on the same road) (there are only 2 sets of lights in Noosa), 4 weeks was spent teaching the littlies how to use lights. The lollypop lady job made obsolete, its pure chaos I tell you. The governments idea is "your on your own kids"... very comforting ... NOT!!!

Yeah was thinking bout this today whilst driving. Its damn slow an I believe that so many people will get pinned for going a bees dick over the limit.

What a bunch of morons - the idea of any government imposing self regulated speed limits and expecting drivers to adhere to them is moronic. It is just a revenue raising exercise - it will not stop one chronic speedster or save one jaywalker's life.

Anyone with a fully functional brain knows that the only way to reduce road kill is to have 20km/h speed limiters fitted to all motorised vehicles and have a runner with a white flag (red light at night) preceeding the vehicle whilst ever it is being driven on a public road.

Deputy mayor of the inner west council Nick Adams said the 30kph limit was standard in residential areas across Europe, the USA and Britain, and that Australia needed to conform.

You know what? he's right. We DO need to conform to international standards. So...

When are we getting some decent interstate highways with appropriate speed limits (like 140 ought to do it)?

When are we getting some decent roads?

In fact, When are we going to see more than a fraction of the revenue raised by our police actually spent on anything associated with transport?

I would not laugh, when cars were first used in the USA, then needed to have a person run infront of the cat with a whistle and flag to warn people.
